Janice Moilliet
Hand weaving, for Janice, is a crystallising of a long time interest in textiles. It gives her the opportunity to explore fabric structure using different fibres and textural effects along with experimenting with colour and hand-dyed yarn. Her designs are based on organic themes. She enjoys the process of examining an object in depth for variations in colour, detail and shape in order to design woven fabric.Janices current range of scarves and bags are made from lambs wool and contrasting fibres. The use of differential shrinkage in finishing gives strong textural effects in the final items and no two products are identical.
Jill designs and makes one-off hand-woven, and mixed-media textiles, often incorporating digital work, natural dyes, and stitch. Her inspiration comes from a diverse range? from beaches to banknotes?. She likes colour and texture, often utilising the different properties of yarns and fibres to produce interesting end results.Jill is a member of, and exhibit with Drawn to the Valley, and Textile Forum Southwest. During Autumn 08 she will have work for sale at The Little Gallery on the Farm, Shebbear, and at the new Duchy Square Arts Centre at Princetown on Dartmoor. As one half of cross-eyed chameleon, and individually, Jill runs workshops, and give tuition in Weaving, Spinning, Dyeing and Textile Design.

She hopes to use these sketches to develop design ideas that reflect upon the changes that she observes. Tessa likes working with a variety of natural fibres and at times creates a further environment link through using local plant materials to dye these fibres.A member of Arran Visual Arts Tessa has recently had work in their Summer Exhibition. She is a member of the Arran Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers and has been involved in passing on skills to young people on the island.
