NaRS BEACH LIFEGUARD COURSES-WATCH THIS SPACE. FREE TO CLUB MEMBERS. Posted 15 May 2008.Congratulations to club members, Liam Heaney(junior), James Wall, Ryan Williams, James Burlingham(renewing)& Emily Bray for passing their NaRS Beach Lifeguard course which took place over the last couple of months under the instruction of Simon Peppler & Pezz Perry. St Ives SLSC members, Charlotte Ferguson, Phil Wilson & Patrick Wilson who attended the course, also passed. Instructor - Pezz Perry.Congratulations to the 6 club members who successfully passed their NaRS Beach Lifeguard exam on Sat 13 October 07. Nipper parents, Alan Roberts & Emma Tredinnick, and Junior, Emma Jolly decided to attend the 6 week course after successfully completing the Life Saver Support Award and were delighted with their achievement. Nipper parent, Cary Clark was also successful and Traci Parker & Carol Penberthy successfully renewed their Beach Lifeguard qualification. New member Dean Williams gained the NaRS Surf Life Saver Award on the same day. Congratulations to Phil Needham who qualified as an Instructor on the day and thanks to Pezz Perry for overseeing the course.Congratulations to the 12 club members who achieved their Life Saver Support Award on Friday 31 August. 5 Juniors and 7 Nipper Parents took the exam which involved a 400m sea swim, a board rescue of a conscious patient, a torpedo rescue of an unconscious patient who becomes conscious, knowledge of signals, beach flags and the beach environment. This award will qualify them to assist with Nipper & Junior sessions in the sea and take part in Surf Life Saving Competitions in the water. The successful candidates were: - Juniors: Victoria & Georgina Littlewood, Liam Heaney, Emma Jolly & James Wall; Nipper Parents: Anita Janes, Gill Onley, Emma Tredinnick, Jeoff Drewett, Tim Lukes, Alan Roberts & Brent Treloar.
