Writing Pubs 3

Aim to spend time on your writing every day, even if you can only manage ten minutes. Make a list of writing ideas so that you can get on with something as soon as you have time available. Make a list of your obsessions and interests. Including these will add life to your writing. Collect magazine pictures that remind you of characters and settings. Develop your observation skills. Supermarkets and cafes are good for this, pick up a new characcter as you shop. If a piece of narrative is dragging try changing it to dialogue. Finish what you start - even if the first draft looks a mess and there are bits missing. It can all be sorted out later. Keep going - don't give up. Reward yourself for the effort you put in.
