ENVIRONMENTAL POLICYAt New Moorings we are committed to providing an excellent service for our guests of today without compromising the environment of tomorrow.We 'reduce, reuse and recycle' wherever possible and strive to purchase our products from local suppliers in an attempt to support our local economy, reduce food miles and promote more sustainable tourism in Devon. Our free-range pork sausage and bacon and free-range eggs all come from local farms. Only Fairtrade teas and coffees are used at breakfast.In line with the required standards of 4 star serviced guest accommodation, towels and bedding will be changed every 3-5 days for long stay guests. This is an environmentally-friendly policy helping to reduce pollution and protect the local rivers and beautiful coastline. More frequent changes are available on request.Where possible we use low energy light bulbs.We provide maps and timetables for the excellent local bus and train services and we like to encourage our guests to use public transport - driving in our narrow lanes makes it hard to appreciate our lovely countryside.We do not want to force our beliefs on anyone and do not intend to pressure our guests to behave in a particular way. However, we are aware that many people are now interested in conservation and will want to support our efforts.If you have any suggestions on helping to protect our environment or for us to improve on our environmental performance, please let us know.
