Alto Saxophone

I started playing clarinet at the age of 13, then a few years later started playing the Tenor Saxophone. After moving away to work in 1989, I had a long break from playing.

When I returned to Chester-Le-Street 15 years ago I joined the North East Concert Band on Clarinet, then later moved onto Alto Saxophone.

In real life, I juggle with being a mam, working full time and doing a part time degree!! Playing the sax is my escape from the norm!!

Favourite Piece - Ashokan Farewell

Most Disliked Piece - Any March

Most Challenging Piece - Bronze Horse

Favourite Venue - Saltwell Park (on a sunny day)

I also enjoy playing in joint concerts with other community organisations / schools for charity events, it makes it all worthwhile doing something we enjoy to raise money for others.
