Judy Staight
Judy is interested in the human figure and the rich variety of its form and movement. She loves to work with charcoal, as it is capable of such beautiful and expressive marks. Its brittle dryness suits her physical approach to drawing as she feels the need for its sharpness and resistance. Judy works into the drawing with fingers, rubbers and cloths. She uses heavyweight watercolour paper, which is able to resist the attack she makes on it without losing its surface.
