Nippers

Fifty Nippers from Hayle Surf Life Saving Club had a long trek up to Bude for their Regional Surf Life Saving Championships on Sunday 13 July but it was all worth while as not only did the sun shine all day but they finished in 3rd place overall with another bagful of medals - 5 Gold, 6 Silver and 14 Bronze. Team Manager, Traci Parker, said "A very enjoyable, though long day, was had by all the team in sunshine for a change! Well done to all our Nippers, everyone gave 110% effort and as always were very well behaved and a credit to the Club. As expected the standard was very high and so we were extremely pleased to finish in the top three overall and come away with 30 medals, but the most important thing was that all our Nippers enjoyed the day. Thanks to the parents and grand parents for all their support and help. Bronze for Brittany Smaldon, Tegan Scholes & Tegen Hughes. TAPLIN RELAY-11/12/13 yr olds: Silver for Lauren Kenchington, Bethany Prisk & Vicky Burlingham; Bronze for Amy Jolly, Tegen Hughes & Bethany Mead. BEACH RELAY-10/12 yr olds: Silver for Holly Woodrow, Bethany Mead, Lucy Walters & Yasmin Walters.OVERALL PLACINGS:- 1.Portreath 623pts 2.Bude 549pts 3.Hayle 409pts 4.St Agnes 381pts then Newquay, Polzeath, St Ives, Holywell Bay, Perranporth & Porthtowan. Saturday 11 October - First Nipper session at Penzance Leisure Centre swimming pool from 6-7.00pm. Cost is £1.50 per session. Please allow enough time to change before hand so that we can start on time at 6pm in the pool. This session will take place every Saturday unless a Gala is taking place - info will appear here if there are any changes to the normal session. Pl see timetable page for changes to nipper swim sessions from 15 Nov 08.
