Angling boat with engine failure
Humber Coastguard, requested the launch of Newbiggin Lifeboat to the aid of a angling boat, broken down 200 metres southeast of Church Point. The vessel 'Edward Dawn' with two persons on board, was disabled due to an electrical fire and required a tow back to its home port at Blyth. As the vessels approached Blyth, Humber Coastguard asked Blyth Volunteer Life Boat to launch and take over the tow, Newbiggin Lifeboat then returned to station.
