Object in the water thought to be a person

Humber Coastguard requested the launch of the lifeboat to the River Wansbeck area, after an object, had been sighted in the water. Newbiggin Coastguards who were on the cliff top, directed the lifeboat to a position approximately 3/4 mile out to sea, where the object was identified as a large piece of wooden furniture. This was then recovered onboard and the lifeboat returned to Newbiggin.
